What makes a good wine gift set?
Bottles that belong together. A good set lets someone taste a range from one place, side by side, rather than three unrelated wines in a basket. Each of ours is three bottles from our own vineyards in the Middle Reach of the Russian River Valley, one of each, with the vintages named on the page.
Which wine gift set should you choose?
If you don't know what they drink, the Introduction: our Shoshana Rosé, the 2021 Next Door Neighbor Chardonnay and the 2021 Middle Reach Pinot Noir. For someone who hosts, The Dinner Table: Rosé to open, the 2021 Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay with the first course, and the 2022 Red Barn Block Pinot Noir with the main.
For a Pinot Noir drinker, The Pinot Noir Collector: the 2022 Middle Reach, 2021 Red Barn Block and 2021 El Diablo. For a Chardonnay drinker, The Chardonnay Collector: the 2022 Next Door Neighbor, 2021 Flora Marie and 2021 Ritchie Vineyard, which Robb Report named one of the Top 50 California Chardonnays of the Century.
Can you build your own wine gift box?
Yes. The gift builder lets you choose a box of one, two, three or six bottles, or a magnum, and tap in any of our wines. One address checks out right away. For a list of recipients or etched bottles, it sends the request to us and we put each gift together by hand.
How is a wine gift set delivered?
By ground, through Vinoshipper, which handles the shipping rules for each state. An adult 21 or older signs for it, and wine can't go to a P.O. box. For the holidays, order at least two weeks ahead; carriers slow down in mid-December.

Do you sell wine gift baskets?
No baskets of crackers and cheese. Domaine de la Rivière sends wine sets and gift boxes of its own Russian River Valley wines, with a handwritten note.
Can I build a custom wine gift box?
Yes. Choose one, two, three or six bottles, or a magnum, in the gift builder; bottles can also be etched with a name or date, quoted before anything is charged.
