What is a good wine wedding gift?

A bottle the couple won't open the week after the wedding. Choose something that ages, and say so in the card: "for your first anniversary." Our 2021 Two Forces Pinot Noir (95 points, Wine Enthusiast) will be better in a year, and a magnum etched with their names and the date becomes a keepsake. The Pinot Noir Collector set gives them three bottles to open over the first years.

What wine should you serve at a wedding?

Three wines cover almost every guest: a dry Rosé for the cocktail hour, a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir with dinner. Pinot Noir is the red that goes with both fish and beef, which helps when the menu has both. Ours come from the same family vineyards, so they sit together naturally on the table.

How much wine do you need for a wedding?

Plan on about three-quarters of a bottle per wine-drinking guest over a five-hour reception, split roughly 40 percent white and Rosé and 60 percent red, plus 10 percent extra. For 100 wine-drinking guests, that's about 80 bottles, or seven cases. For an order that size, the gift builder sends your request to us and we work out the details with you directly.

What wine do you give the wedding party?

A bottle each, etched with their name, for groomsmen and bridesmaids. It doubles as the thank-you and the keepsake. Start in the gift builder, choose Etched, and list the names; we send a proof first.

Good to know

What is a good bottle of wine to give as a wedding gift?

An age-worthy wine the couple can open on an anniversary. Domaine de la Rivière's 2021 Two Forces Pinot Noir and its etched magnums are popular wedding gifts.

How many bottles of wine do I need for 100 wedding guests?

About 80 bottles for 100 wine-drinking guests over a five-hour reception (three-quarters of a bottle each plus 10 percent), roughly 40 percent white and Rosé, 60 percent red.

Can you etch wine bottles for a wedding?

Yes. Domaine de la Rivière etches names and dates into its Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rosé, in 750 mL or magnum, and sends a proof and quote first.

Can you ship wine to a wedding venue?

Usually, if the venue can accept it and an adult 21 or older can sign. We ship to most U.S. states through Vinoshipper, which handles compliance; confirm your venue's corkage and delivery policy first.
