What wine is good for an anniversary?
One you'll both remember, and ideally one that ages. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a cool climate keep their freshness for years, so a bottle opened on your tenth anniversary can be better than it was on your first. Our 2021 Heritage Block Pinot Noir, from our oldest plantings, is the one we describe as a special-occasion wine: decant it and take your time (95 points, Cristaldi Report).
Should you buy a wine to save for a future anniversary?
It's a good tradition: buy two of the same bottle, open one now and lay one down for the five- or ten-year mark. Store it on its side, somewhere cool and dark around 55°F. A magnum ages most gracefully of all.
